Blessing Culver

I am a many-faceted, multi-media artist who is drawn to many styles and subject matters. My work includes painting, illustration, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, and writing. All of my work is connected with the joy and beauty of creation. Every art form I have worked in has been inspired by a deep desire to create in any way possible, as well as by a passion to better understand these different forms and their place throughout history.
In 2022, I graduated from Hanover College with degrees in Art & Design, English, and Creative Writing, and I am currently employed as an Artist at Weber Group Inc. in Sellersburg, Indiana. I continue to be deeply interested in the ways people create.
Joan Miró, Valerio Adami, Edward Hopper, Ralph Steadman, Ivan Albright, and Gian Lorenzo Bernini are some of the artists who have most influenced my work. Literary and philosophical texts often drive my art, especially writings by Albert Camus, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, and Franz Kafka. In these works, questions of alienation, the absurd, and the self are brought up, as well as existentialism in a broader sense. I also love the post-modernist's and am often drawn to their style and subject matter when writing.
